Franschhoek via Grabouw

This ride takes 1 to 1.5 hour depending on the size of the group. The early part of the ride is mainly on highway so it can be a bit boring. Be careful not to exceed the speed limit on the N2 and Somerset West. Sir Lowry's Pass is a lovely stretch of tar, it can however be very unpleasant if it's windy. The stretch between Grabouw and Theewaterskloof is very scenic. After the Theewaterskloof bridge turn left towards Franschhoek and over the infamous Franschhoek Pass, the Pass is as treacherous as you make it, take it easy and enjoy the sharp turns and watch out for the bumps, gravel and Baboons. Once in Franschhoek there are several restaurants that welcome bikers, just look for the crowds.
